This book is an excellent tool to use as an adjunct to treating the d/a client that may also have mental health issues. It has several good worksheets to utilize as a tool for initiating process groups and in order to engage the client to move through the various stages of motivational interviewing. It covers more basic ideas and has some specific ways to get the client to increase their awareness overall.I recommend this book highly, you will surely find ways to engage the client in treatment if you are at a standstill or the client seems to be stagnate in treatment. It will enhance your ability to focus and integrate their issues in treatment, perhaps moving them forward in identifying items for treatment and aftercare planning. It also if nothing else gives you creative ways to conduct more meaningful groups with your clientele.
