My Pug has decided that he really, really likes to eat dirt clods as a snack. It got so bad that you couldn't let him outside without him running over and gulping down some dirt. Unfortunately, he can't always tell the dirt clods from stones, and he has managed to swallow a few stones in the process. I tried using a cone and he got past that obstacle in a matter of seconds. This was a last resort so that I don't have to fly him over to another island for emergency surgery after eating rocks. The good: the fit is perfect, he actually doesn't seem to mind wearing it, visibility is good, and he can breathe easily. The bad: he can still manage to stick his tongue out just enough to eat small dirt clods and rocks! So I have had to sew up the bottom opening about halfway up so he cannot get his tongue out. I have posted a photo (before sewing up the opening), and my husband's take on the whole thing for those who have a sense of humor. :-pBought this for my bratty pug. She hates having her nails done. Well. This didn’t really help. She got out of it. Maybe your dog acts better and won’t freak out like mine did. GoodluckIt’s nearly impossible to find a good muzzle for a French Bulldog. Unfortunately, my dog is very reactive on walks and guards me. Because he goes in for bites, in an effort to prevent any bites (from or to him), I got this. Because of his face shape, other muzzles were to restrictive and he could not open his mouth all the way to pant. With this muzzle (with the tongue spot) he can comfortably pant during the walk and still get treats through it. He is even able to still drink water (not the cleanest way ever but he gets the water in his body at least). Fits his face well and well worth it to keep him safe!Size small fits our 24 pound Boston Terrier/Frenchie mix perfectly, very pleased with the fit and functionality. However, we have used it for only 4 days and some of the mesh around the muzzle area is already failing. He did rub his face on the ground a fair amount during the first several walks, but not an excessive amount. I really like the tongue out option, it allows me to feed him small treats. I will look for a similar style, but a different vendor. This item runs quotes large. I had to order an extra small for my pug which does work, nut is a bit on the loose side. He does not fight it, and is enjoying his freedom.I have a pug/shih tzu mix, no snout, flat face. He's decided to hunt the neighbor's chickens and has killed 2 so far. It was either a muzzle or being tied up when outdoors. He doesn't like the muzzle and pouts when he has it on but it works. It allows him to drink and lick his nose but he can't harm the chickens and not being able to bark and eat poop are an added bonus. He is 20 lbs with a head measuring 15 1/4 inches. The xsmall fits him perfectly. It took both of my dogs a strong 15 seconds to get these off, but it was worth a trySmall size only suited for a french bulldog, or pug. Not for Shih tzu.
