The last thing we wanted to do was put a muzzle on our sweet Shih tzu, but she is elderly and cannot see in 1 eye and is hard of hearing so she is always finding inappropriate things to put in her mouth when she goes outside to do her business. This is easy to put on and she doesn't seem to mind it. She has a little head, but this fits pretty good. She doesn't wear it long, but Itmakes me giggle as she looks like Jack Black in the comedic 2006 film 'Nacho Libre'.Poor girl. It does the job.Doesn’t fit as well on Shih tzu’sThe muzzle I ordered was this one, as listed. The one in the package is a different one, with a different more complicated strap set up. The basket is almost the same as is the soft rubbery material it is made of and it was the correct size. I am just confused why the muzzle sent is not at all the one pictured. The muzzle sent seems to be just fine, it fits perfectly with the adjustable straps and my dog wasn't overly concerned about it for the short times he has worn it for the fittings and comfort checks. It was a surprise that a size 3 fits my 80+ pound black lab/pit bull mix. He is not a biter at all, never has bitten anyone, but too many people see him and seem to think he is one dangerous dog. The only thing he might do to someone is lick them while wagging his tail in happiness. I am hoping his wearing a comfy muzzle will allow those misinformed people to be more comfortable when they see us out and about and also that he will be hindered from eating all the wildlife scat that is all over my land which he seems to think is a great treat.I bought two of these and neither fit well. the sizing is really tricky. I think, despite them modeling the item on a Frenchie, no two frenchies are alike. One fits her mouth well but covers her eyes and the other doesn’t fit anything. I would try it out for little dogs with more predictable facial features. I think the product is cool and effective—just be sure the measure as best as you can first.It was too big for my 7 lb Apple head Imperial Shih Tzu. It It fit correctly I feel like it would've been a perfect product.This is a great product, our dog seems very comfortable and surprising confident in it. One note - order size up. We ordered a medium for a regular-sized frenchie and it was way too small. Large was perfect. We wont use it often, but gives me peace of mind for those risky occasions where he gets too wound up around other dogs. Muzzling my little friend is not something I want to do, but it would kill me if he was responsible for injuring another dog. I'm happy that he seems comfortable in this mask.Winston is an XL boy all day long. I measured him & thought it would work but unfortunately not. Nothing against the muzzle.My boy figured out how to take it off the first day. I attached it through his collar but even after a while like that he took it off. i wouldn’t recommend buying to stop chewing since it comes off easy it’ll only make you more frustrated if your dog is anything like mine.
