My daughter and I have been using this book for two years (she is 7 now). The designs are NOT something she can do on her own. It is something we do together, which is fun. I do all the painting...Pros:-There are so many great ideas for designs you can use for all different seasons, occasions, sports, animals, etc...-My daughter and her friends love it so much they ask to have their nails done at all playdatesCons:-The nail polish that comes with it peels off immediately (we just use regular nail polish... solves the problem!)I gave this as a gift to my 9-yr-old neighbor. She immediately got to work on my daughters nails and her own. Each limb with a different theme. Very cute. Suggest going over the finished nails with a clear coat as the polish washed off or peeled within two days, but that is with pretty much all novelty polish. I would still recommend this for a fun pedicure night!!This book has a lot of new ideas to be creative with nail polish. Most are easy and so cute to do. From watermelons, to ladybugs, and baby chicks. The peel off nail polish makes designs easy and fun to practice with. A great book to for a girl party or just a mom and daughter time.I bought this for my 8 year old niece. I felt the ease with which the nail polish came off was perfect for her. It's great for practicing the different designs and removing to try again or try a different design. I figured that she could use other nail polish when she was ready for a design to be more long lasting.I bought this for my 5 year old grand-daughter and we have had a great deal of fun with it. We can practice the many designs and the polish peels off easily. The only problem is that it peels sometimes too easily. We bought real polish and use the designs in the book for ideas. Worth the money.I bought this as a Christmas stocking stuffer gift for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. She's 12 and has tried out most of the designs, mostly successfully. Anyhoo! It makes for a great inexpensive gift, and it appears to be easy enough for a pre-teen to follow the directions and enjoy the results.Super fun and creative! Great ideas, but somewhat difficult to execute unless you are an adult. I had to use a toothpick for most of the detail, which worked well with the designs they chose. I've used it on both my girls and it's a nice "girly" thing to do together. Because it's totally non-toxic, it washes off. So, keep them out of the bath or washing hands vigorously if you want your hard work to last more than day!I bought my 14-year-old sister this book/kit for Christmas and she liked it. It comes with nail polish and shows her how to paint her nails different way. I think it's a unique idea and makes a good gift for a good price.This is a great book with lots of ideas on how to create great designs for nails, I do not like the water based paints that come with the book because although they work and look very effective they come off the minute you wash your hands and after the hard work gone into the designs it is very upsetting. My girls use their own nail varnish and have become nail technicians. Great for a wide range of ages my girls are 6 and 12 and I like it too.This was a birthday present for my 9 year old daughter, she hasnt stopped making different designs on her nails and also doing her friends. Would recommend this product, I have bought more since as it makes an affordable birthday present for all those parties.As a adult this book is useless to me. Had read this on a previous review but ignored it at my cost. If you're over eleven years old don't bother.We love this book full of brilliant creative designs but we were really disappointed about the paint. Ours peeled off our nails with in half an hour of application. Not great when you have spent time creating a masterpiece on each nail!Bought for friend's daughter for this year's Christmas present. Think she will like it . (Hope so!).Seems like easy to follow instructions with picture guide of how to create the various designs of nails.
