Read more About Molluscum Contagiosum Molluscum Contagiosum (MC) is a fairly common viral infection found in the skin. The disease is caused by a poxvirus called the Molluscum Contagiosum Virus (MCV). Signs and symptoms include raised bumps on the skin that are usually pink or flesh-colored. They range in size from the tip of a pin to 1⁄4 inch in diameter. Some lesions will have an indicative dimple in the center of the pustule. This visually identifies the lesion as molluscum contagiosum. In individuals with a healthy immune system, the disease is self-limiting. Most people spontaneously resolve from the disease within 12 to 24 months. Sufferers who are immuno-compromised may have symptomatic lesions for several years. Lesions are generally smooth, circular, have a dimple and are painless to the touch. They have a waxy core. Secondary bacterial infections may occur in some lesions causing them to redden, itch, break or become sore. Read more

This product successfully got rid of my 5 year old’s molluscum contagiosum. She had the rash for over 5 months and it was spreading but her pediatrician said there wasn’t really any way to treat them besides burning them off (no thank you!). I was hesitant to try this product but I was getting desperate. It took about a month and a half of daily use but her rash is gone! It’s true that when you use it properly, the rash will start looking worse before it dries up. At first I was applying it with my fingertips and the skin around each lesion started getting really irritated so I stopped using it for a few days. After that, I started applying just a dot of the cream with a q-tip and that did the trick. All in all, I would absolutely recommend trying this product for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum.Yes yes yes!!! My 3 year old got molluscum in May 2022. Same story doctor told us there's no treatment just have to wait it out. Months went by and it slowly started to spread. Started doing browsing on the web and found this. After reading the reviews I had to try it myself. My daughters bumps are drying up and clearing up. I'm so glad I found this product thank you thank you!!!!You must have a little patience using this product. I applied religiously everyday at LEAST twice a day for almost 4 weeks. All my daughters warts were healed and gone by 4 weeks. When you apply, you have to wait 2-3 minutes until it’s dry so it doesn’t get on clothes etc. Currently at 6 weeks, she is wart free!My 2 year old had an outbreak of molluscum contagioso. The doctor told us nothing would help but time, except maybe painful procedures to remove the bumps. After a year of her having a small patch of bumps, they started to spread. There were about two dozen of them, and some were large and really hurting her. Out of desperation, I bought this cream, hoping the reviews were true. I’m happy to report that it has worked wonderfully! It’s been 3 weeks since we started applying the cream, and she has only two bumps left, both of which look to be on their way out. I did subtract a star for messiness— it takes a while for the cream to dry, and it stains everything it rubs off on— and also because it made the skin around her bumps very, very dry. But it is way worth the downsides to be rid of those horrible bumps. I hope this cream can be officially approved for treatment and prescribed by doctors. It seems like parents just get told there is no topical treatment, but there is.Never did I ever think I’ll find medication that worked on Amazon but here we are. This product finally removed my daughter’s tedious 6-7 molluscums on her elbow. There’s a long review here that explains what to do. Follow that and use the ointment. It will do the work. This review is super long and wordy, but is for the parent who is as freaked out as I was. I took my 11 year old daughter to the dermatologist because she was having an eczema flare up on her inner arm creases, but this time there was also a small peculiar rash on top of it (less than 10 bumps on each arm). The doctor recognized right away that it was Molluscum Contagiosum, told me that it was HIGHLY contagious, can spread like wild fire, and that there is very little that can be done about it except to wait it out, until the virus runs it course...WHICH COULD BE MONTHS ON INTO YEARS!! I was dumbfounded. I'm gonna assume that she contracted this during a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark in Anaheim, Ca, 6 months prior to the diagnosis. Through countless hours of relentless late night research, I found several articles in medical journal websites, but mostly read reviews on all the treatment products. I bought ALL OF IT!! Zymaderm, Naturasil, Tea Tree Oil, and many other products. I used these products simultaneously with no impressive results. These products were not effective at drying up the pustules but they did relieve the itching. After about 4 months of using the other products, the molluscum continued to spread on her arm and had 2 on the top of her foot. I had held off on buying the Conzerol due to the price but what a mistake that was!! I bought the tube of Conzerol and as well as the soap. At this point (and I know you aren't supposed to and I do not recommend this) but under very sterile conditions, I would deeply pinch the older larger pustules with special dermatologic tools in order to remove the core. I only did this on a few that had gotten big enough that I knew my daughter would end up scratching them off leading to more spreading, so I figured I would better control the situation. After that I would prep the entire infected area with Hydrogen Peroxide with a cotton pad, and instead of applying the gel to each individual molluscum spot, I would spread/smear it over the entire infected areas with a Q-Tip. I would dry the gel on her arms with a hair dryer to make sure it was dry and to avoid staining her long-sleeved t-shirts that she would sleep in, and wear to school (thank goodness this has all been during cooler weather). I need to add that during this time period I started her on a daily regimen of multi-vitamin, loratadine, tagamet, and Erythromycin prescribed by the doctor. If you research, this virus tends to attack those with a compromised immune system, and my daughter probably contracted it due to her having eczema. We are now on our second tube of Conzerol, which the first lasted about a month of liberal applications morning and night and the molluscum is nearly gone and her arms are looking amazing!! All that is left now are tiny bumps, which actually might not be molluscum at all, she occasionally has keratosis pilaris (bumpy skin), but we're not taking any chances. It seems to helping that as well!! LONG STORY SHORT, IF WE WOULD HAVE STARTED WITH CONZEROL WE WOULD HAVE BEEN FREE OF MOLLUSCUM MONTHS AGO!!We tried at least a month of 2 other products before landing on this one (Zymaderm and Mollenol) in addition to his dermatologist using beetlejuice on a couple to "jumpstart" his immune system attacking the molluscum. Those products burned and irritated his skin terribly, wasn't even worth continuing but we really tried. Conzerol didn't irritate his skin at all and had no odor which was such a relief! I was worried about the brown stickiness of the product, but the stickiness is a lot of what makes it work! And my son had around 60 bumps when we started, so it being brown helped me keep track of where I was, so it was actually very helpful! I ended up buying 2 tubes before we were done but he had so many to start, I'm not surprised. Also because there were so many bumps, we only treated once a day in the evenings since it took me so long to get to all of them (product recommends 2-3 times a day and I'm sure it would have helped us finish treatment faster). I'm so thankful for this product when the internet and his dermatologist just say "leave it alone and it will go away someday". I only wish I would have found this sooner before his issue got so out of hand! So thankful for this product!3 weeks ago my 20 month old sons molluscum was getting out of control....both his legs were covered in it, it had spread to his belly and was working its way up his arms towards his face....after trying numerous things to get rid of it we came across conzerol, it was expensive at £60 a tube but had 100% money back guarantee so figured it would be good!! We used the first tube within 2 days because of how wide spread it was but couldn't believe the results after just 3 days! We then bought a second tube along with tea tree oil and it has completely gone. I cannot praise this stuff enough, anyone who is having trouble with this horrible condition should seriously consider this amazing cream! The results in the pictures speak for themselves, that is legs on the first application and his legs three weeks after it!! Yes it's messy and a bit of an operation to apply it twice a day but we'll worth it!! Hope this helps someoneI was reluctant to buy Conzerol due to the high price especially after buying another expensive product that we couldn’t use due to it being too painful, but I’m so pleased I did!We starting using the product on Sunday and have used it twice a day for the last 6 days... so far it’s working perfectly.Because the spots are between my sons legs we dab it on using a cotton bud and have him lay there for 5 mins while it dries, once dried it doesn’t seam to get on clothes or bedding. At the moment the spots are healing and not spreading. Although this is expensive it works and for my son I would pay anythingSuch a shame the dr could not prescribe this or even recommend it!Update: exactly a month later and my son has gone from over 100 spots to none!!! This product works and is amazingMy 2 yr old son got mollescum 6 months ago. Initially misdiagnosed as chicken pox. After further conversation (pestering) with my Dr. She told me to sit tight and ride it out. They would go eventually etc etc. But those little spots in his armpit spread, down his arm, knee caps and arm pits and face. One day he looked like he had monkey pox. How can you sit back and watch this horrid rash take over your sons body? It's all I could think about. Plus I have a 6 month old. Anyway. No help from the dr so I started looking at alternative medicine. I used a few different products that soothed and molludab helps one or two. But he started getting clusters of what looked like warts on his knees and elbows. He had hundreds. I ordered this cream 12 days ago and have used it twice a day. It's been hard because of the heatwave and him having to wear leggings during the day but its almost gone. I wish I had taken pictures!! He still has his mother spots, just two huge ones under his armpit but they look like they are going now too. I'm so relieved. It was well worth it. He has some pin prick scars under his arms fro the original spots but the knees elbows and face so far are fine. It's pricey but well worth it if you are desperate. Tea tree and coconut works well to soothe too. I really feel for anyone affected by this and hope this review helps. All I can say is dont wait, they do spread and its normal to feel upset and frustrated by your child having this. Oh and we have also been using a bubble bath with lemon mertyl.Very expensive, so we tried all other options first, but it worked so worth it! My son had well over 100 spots, initially on his trunk, then arms. We left it alone initially as the GP suggested, but after a year it started spreading to his face. My son is 9, and was very self conscious about them. The conzerol worked well, quite quickly. Took 1 1/2 tubes, but worth every penny. The spots became very dry and eczema- like, he was quite badly scarred initially- not sure if the conzerol contributed to that, but it’s started to fade with a deep moisturiser. His few facial ones haven’t scarredas we threaten them as soon as they appeared, just the characteristic small dot. He is no longer contagious and doesn’t have to avoid questions from friends and wear long sleeves all year round- I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! We used alongside thuja homeopathic tablets.I was planning to write a scathing review for this cream as I saw no difference when we were using it (used it for about 7 weeks).but am having to change tack as 2 weeks after we gave up using it our son’s molluscum (that he has had for about 8 months) are finally going - it’s like a miracle! Of course I can’t say it’s definitely because of the cream, and it is awful to use - had to dab on about 60 spots every night and then dry with a hairdryer before he went to bed, but it still flaked off during the night and completely ruined pjs and bedsheets/pillow.We didn’t do it in mornings as didn’t want to ruin clothes or have people wonder what the brown blobs were!Anyway we gave up after 7 weeks/ 2 tubes as they looked just as bad as ever (about 5 went but about 20 more came!) so we figured it wasn’t working and was pointless. However like I say - 2 weeks after we stopped using it the spots started going, and a couple of weeks later they are still scabbing over and then going, very slowly. So happy they are going and wonder if the cream did it.
