It may not be used with fish that will be eaten by people. When applied as directed, it is safe for ornamental pond fish and aquatic plants. It is less toxic to koi and goldfish than other malachite green and formalin products. TREATMENT PROCESS: The treatment is not to be used with salt over 0.15 percent salinity; at 0.15 percent salinity, monitor and provide high aeration. Before adding the treatment to any water, change at least 25 percent of the water; changing more than 90 percent of the water will greatly improve the treatment's effectiveness. Remove all carbon filtration just before adding the treatment, and replace the carbon after the treatment. Add 3.5 fluid ounces of Microbe-Lift BSDT for every 1,000 gallons of water to be treated. The treatment may be repeated 3 days in a row maximum, after at least a 25 percent water change each of those days.
